Where should your dojo's awards be delivered?

Should awards for several dojos ship to one address?
Send everything to one address when a single person will sort the pieces and carry them to each branch. Split the order when branches are far apart or hold their own belt ceremonies. Tell us which students belong to which dojo, and the quote lists a shipment per branch with its own packing list. Association-wide pieces, such as a team photo plaque, travel with the head dojo's box.
Can trophies be delivered straight to a tournament hall?
Usually it is safer not to. School gyms and community halls are hired only for the event, and staff there will not hold a parcel for you. Have the trophies sent to the host dojo or to the director's home, check them there, and bring them to the hall. If the venue must receive them, give a named contact and the hours that person is on site.
How do affiliated schools outside the United States order?
A branch dojo abroad, or a school ordering for a visiting examiner's seminar, should give the country and postal code at the start. The quote then names the delivery service and sets out who handles customs paperwork and duties there. Because production and transit are counted separately, share the seminar or grading date in that first note so the plan can be checked against it.
How should pieces be packed for a belt ceremony or a ring?
Ask for packing that follows how the awards are given. For a grading, plaques are grouped by rank in the order students are called forward, lowest belt first if that is your custom. For a tournament, trophies are grouped by ring and division. Belt displays meant for a wall should be unpacked early, so the school can try a real belt in the holder and ask what hanging hardware the piece needs.
